I have always loved growing and painting flowers. I believe this originates from my Indian heritage, my family have been farmers in India for hundreds of years, growing and eating from the land. I too, have grown so much from seeds and enjoyed making my gardens look beautiful from my choice of colours, shapes and placement. In a sense I’ve curated them to provide stunning compositions for my art. Flowers are exceptional subjects, in their flamboyant colours, quiet muted shades, dramatic shaping, gentle and elegant swirls, there are so many different but equally fascinating flowers to muse over. Painting flowers very large, with intense colour and ‘magnified’ has been a signature style of my art for over thirty five years. My colour knowledge and experience of observing flowers has given me confidence to really experiment and keep evolving as an artist. I am never lost for inspiration and despite many years creating art from flowers, I still find their beauty breath taking and their allure irresistible. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have in creating them.
